My name is Ibukun Moradeyo, and I came to Canada with a background as an accountant from back home. When I arrived, I wanted more for myself, but learned quite fast Canadian Education and Canadian Experience are in demand. So I decided to continue my journey by studying at Citi College of Canadian Careers. At first, I was nervous and anxious, integrating into the new educational system but the staff were patient and my instructor Mrs Samantha Ade is the best ever role model, she is all in one package for me and she is supportive, which made a big difference for me. Ahmed javed help alot as well. When doing Practicum Placement and the help I received from Mr Mahood and the Career Services team gave me valuable Canadian experience and prepared me for the job market. My name is Shogofa Shirzai, and I have always had a passion for helping others. Back in Afghanistan, I served as a substitute teacher, but when the government fell, my husband and I were forced to flee as education and work for women were banned. When I arrived in Canada as an immigrant, my goal was to continue my studies, and after visiting several schools, I chose Citi College because they were supportive and welcoming. With the guidance of my enrollment counselor, instructors, and Career Services Coordinator, my experience was truly meaningful. Now, as a Community Service Worker graduate, I hold both a diploma and valuable Canadian experience, and I plan to work with an NGO to help women like me.

I want to thank City College for giving me the chance to study in the Community Service Worker program. This program helped me learn both knowledge and skills that I could use in real life. When I started looking for a college, I really wanted to study again, because I had already completed my master's degree in my homeland and was studying for a doctorate, but I couldn't finish it because I had to go to Canada as a refugee, which is why I always felt inferior. I wanted to find a college as good as my old university. After searching the Internet, I accidentally found “Citi College”. I immediately started looking for information about it, because for me, college is my second family, and quality and environment are of great importance. I realized that I was very lucky. “Citi College” was exactly the second home I was looking for, where I could study in a way that would help society and share my experience professionally. As a community service worker, it was here that I met extraordinary people who were endowed with high professionalism, but I couldn't help but single out Gaya and Mahmood, because I had the most contact with them! They are professionals in their field and inspire each student. I am currently undergoing an internship and have a very big goal: to stay in the same organization that I found with the help of college HR, in order to develop further and share the experience I have already gained with others.

As of today, I have begun my Practicum Placement with an AIDS Community Support Group in Oshawa Ontario. Hi I am Ruqia Darweesh a past student at Citi College of Canadian Careers in the Medical Office Assistant program. I find myself very grateful to have come to this college to study this program since I am satisfied overall with my experience at the College. As an Afghan woman immigrant my first priority coming to Canada was to get Canadian education and experience in order to be able to work in Canada. I am very pleased to have chosen the Medical Office Assistant Practicum program as this allowed me to get placement experience and work at a medical clinic. I was grateful for the college's career services team and practicum coordinator that prepared me for the placement and connected me to the medical clinic where I completed my placement. My name is Kendal Kebedom, and I am originally from Eritrea in East Africa. Back home, I studied Business Management and worked at a car rental company. When I came to Canada with my family, I wanted to continue my education and build a better future for myself. At first, I found it very difficult to apply for jobs because I did not have Canadian education or work experience, and most of the time I did not even receive a response to my applications. That is why I chose to join Citi College and enroll in the Office Assistant program. This program gave me the opportunity to focus on office and secretary roles, which I felt were more connected to my goals, instead of restarting my studies in Business Management. My enrollment officer, Imran, supported me throughout the process and guided me in the right direction. The classes were a good balance of self-learning and professional instruction. I also took part in Career Services workshops, which were very helpful in building my confidence, teaching me how to present myself through an elevator pitch, and preparing me for job interviews. These sessions gave me the skills and courage I needed to take the next step in my career journey. Today, I am working again with the career services team, since left my previous job and I am looking forward for Citi College helping me in this regard. I believe now I am moving forward with the knowledge and confidence I gained from Citi College. I feel much more prepared to find opportunities in Canada, and I am grateful for the support I received during my studies.

As today’s digital world is rapidly growing, especially with the rise of e-commerce websites, this became an inspiration for me to study E-Business Development Engineering. I am fascinated how online platforms connect people and business. Citi College perfectly matches my career goals and meets my expectations. Hi, I'm Abegail Añonuevo Nabaunag-Pangilinan, a medical laboratory technologist from the Philippines with years of experience and lots of training. I arrived in Canada last November 2024 with high hopes of continuing my career in the medical field. However, I quickly realized that finding work without Canadian experience or Canadian education was a significant challenge. Despite my qualifications, many employers required local experience and Canadian credentials. Determined to stay within the healthcare field, I decided to explore alternative options that would use my existing skills while providing me with the Canadian experience I needed. That's when I discovered Citi College Canadian Careers and their Medical Office Assistant program with the placement program. From the very beginning, I felt a bit confused because everything was so new to me. The Citi College team truly understood the challenges faced by newcomers like myself and provided personalized guidance and encouragement. They helped me a lot with everything from applying for OSAP and submitting requirements, to gaining additional academic knowledge through weekly courses, activities, quizzes, and exams, and even preparing for my placement. Plus, the program not only taught me the necessary administrative and clinical skills, but it also helped me understand the Canadian healthcare system. The placement program was a game-changer. It gave students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting and gain valuable Canadian work experience. Unlike other students, I didn't have a hard time finding a placement because even before the placement program started, I was already volunteering in a family doctor's office. There, I work alongside experienced medical professionals and contribute to patient care. I'm so glad I did this because, for some students, the challenging part is looking for a placement; it took them a long time to find one because in reality, many students are also looking for placements, making it quite competitive. If I were to give advice to future students, I would tell them to find a place that will accept them as a volunteer and to keep volunteering (even if only on weekends) just to secure a placement site. You can also gain lots of knowledge there while studying, so it's a win-win situation. I highly recommend Citi College to anyone looking to build a successful career in Canada, especially those with international experience wanting to work in Canada. One area I would suggest for improvement is the AmpEducator platform. While it has great potential, some students and instructors have a hard time navigating it. Ensuring that both instructors and students are well-informed and properly trained on how to use all of its features would greatly enhance the learning experience. Additionally, the Microsoft class can be challenging because it includes students from different programs with varying start dates, making it difficult to keep everyone on the same page. Perhaps streamlining the class structure could help. Overall, thank you, Citi College, for believing in me and helping me achieve my goals!

I am a current student of Citi college and opting for a program E-Business Development engineering. I chose this program because it will help me to build my small business soon. This E-Business program has all the things I was looking for like operating systems, creating websites, running ads on google and Facebook, creating content all these things will help me. Hi, my name is Zahra Moharer. I am a Diploma holder at Citi College in the program of Accounting and Payroll Administration. I came to Canada from Iran, where I studied economics. As an immigrant, a friend recommended Citi College to me, and I decided to continue my career in accounting. I really enjoyed the curriculum and the flexibility of online classes, which helped me balance my studies with life in my new home. The supportive atmosphere, patient instructors, and helpful staff made my experience very positive, and the college even provided students with a laptop that made learning easier for everyone.
